‘Her identifications are small revolutions’

The literary magazine nY and BOZAR LITERATURE organize an evening about avant-garde writing and feminism with authors Lisa Robertson (Canada) and Mia You (US). They will talk about woman writers of the avant-garde and the place of revolution(s) and identities in today’s avant-garde. The conversation will be moderated by scholar and translator Sarah Posman.

Lisa Robertson is a Canadian poet living in France. Her books include Debbie: An Epic, R’s Boat, The Men: A Lyric Book, Nilling: Prose and Cinema of the Present.

Mia You was born in South-Korea and grew up in the US. Her last book is I, Too, Dislike It (1913 Press). Her criticism appeared in Artforum, bookforum, Jacket2 and the Los Angeles Review of Books.
Sarah Posman is a researcher at University of Ghent and has widely translated American poetry into Dutch. She is an editor at nY.

This literary evening takes place in the context of the BOZAR exhibition ‘The Power of the avant-garde’. During the day, a colloquium will take place around the avant-garde, organized by MDRN (www.mdrn.be), a research program about modernism at the University of Leuven.
